Medical Gas Certification is a requirement in Florida and in most of the United States. Plumbing companies in Florida that install, and repair, these life safety systems and equipment must be certified by an approved training agency that is certified by the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board. The Florida Medical Gas Company been conducting Medical Gas courses in Florida since 1995 and received CILB approval in 2000 when it became law in Florida.
What you will learn:
- NFPA 99 Gas and Vacuum Systems code following the ASSE 6010 Standard.
- Brazing skills using oxygen, acetylene torches with rosebud tips while purging the system with Nitrogen. Learning correct brazing skills is one of the most important aspects of installing medical gas and vacuum systems.
- Student will have a combination of classroom time, brazing and a written test.
Attendees will need to bring the following items:
(6) 1 1/2″ Copper Tube cut in 5″ pieces
(6) 1 1/2″ Copper Couplings
1/2 pound BCUP filler metal or silver solder 5 or 15%
1 pair of Gloves
1 pair of Safety Glasses
