This class is intended to help members navigate issues concerning the identification and prevention of drug use on the worksite in light of changing drug laws, the opioid crisis and mental health crisis. Employers will be presented with the legal framework regarding these issues, including the impact of Florida’s Drug Free Workplace Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and DOT regulations. Employers will become comfortable identifying and applying the concept of reasonable suspicion and engaging in the interactive process regarding accommodations in the workplace.
