ABC Central Florida
Associated Builders and Contractors has Student Chapters at the University of Central Florida (ABC/UCF) which consists mainly of students seeking a degree in Civil and Construction Engineering, and Seminole State College at Heathrow which consists of students seeking a degree in Construction, Construction Management, Interior Design, & Architectural Engineering Technology.
Purpose
The purpose of the ABC Student Chapters is to merge the gap between perspectives and methods as seen and performed in the industry, with how it is learned in the academic setting. Through this program, the Central Florida Chapter ABC members will be preparing up-and-coming civil and construction engineers as well as students pursuing a career in construction with a more realistic understanding of how the industry operates while teaching them how to maximize the concepts learned in the classroom. Through various opportunities such as student competitions, monthly networking events, jobsite visits, scholarships and fellowships, the student chapters gain exposure to Student Chapter alumni as well as leaders in the Central Florida commercial construction community.
Goals
ABC Student Chapter goals begin with achieving academic excellence, while remaining highly competitive amongst peers, and establishing a dominate presence in the construction industry.

Events
Collegiate Golf Fundraiser
Show support for the University of Central Florida Student Chapter and the Seminole State Student Chapter aiding them to compete in the ABC National Construction Management Competition. Meet UCF Civil Engineering students and Seminole State Construction Management students seeking a future in the commercial construction industry. With your support at this fundraiser event, you will help send the student chapters to the annual competition to be held in Vegas in 2025!

Awards
- 2024 - The Seminole State Student Chapter competes for the first time at the Construction Management Competition in Orlando, Florida. The UCF Student Chapter was shortlisted to move onto the presentation round at the competition.
- October 2023 - Isaac-Joshua Barton wins the ABC Central Florida Young Professional of the Year Award.
- 2023 - The UCF Student Chapter won 1st place in Quality Control at the Construction Management Competition in Orlando, Florida.
- 2022 - The UCF Student Chapter won 3rd place in Project Management at the Construction Management Competition in San Antonio, Texas.
- 2021 - The UCF Student Chapter won 3rd place in Project Management and Quality Control in the CMC.
- 2019 – The ABC/UCF Student Chapter won 3rd place in Quality Control at the Construction Management Competition in Long beach, CA! Special shout out to Nicolas Becerra, University of Central Florida, who won 2nd place for a new individual award this year for his score on the written test component.
- 2018 – 3rd place in Quality Control at the Construction Management Competition
